FUNKE AKINDELE CLOCKS 43 YEARS

On the 24th of August, Forty three years ago, The multiple award winning actress, content creator, and The CEO of Sceneone TV was born. The Popular Nollywood actress, fondly called by her stage name, Jenifa adds a year to her age, and she blessed the whole of instagram with stunning photos and captions to go with.

In addition, Funke celebrates her 4th year anniversary with JJC, just a day before her birthday, and shares pictures of she and her husband, JJC

Blessed with twins, Funke Akindele had not had it smooth on this journey called marriage,  as she previously got married to Adeola Kehinde Oloyede in 2012, and in July 2013, the couple got divorced. Even after getting to married to Nigerian rapper; JJC Skillz in 2016, Funke Akindele had to wait for about 2 years before giving births. There were a number of rumours concerning her having a miscarriage in 2017, as her pregnancy rumours were among the top searched results on Google Search Engine in August 2017.

The super talented actress has also seized this opportunity to promote her upcoming movie, ”Omoghetto the saga”. In April 2020, Funke Akindele was arrested during the lockdown for having a party, where Nigerian artisete, Naira Marley was present but according to the video she uploaded on her Youtube channel but has now been taken down, they were preparing and rehearsing for the movie, ”Omoghetto the saga”, and Naira Marley was supposed to actually be a surprise to her fans.

Omo Ghetto is actually a trilogy that was released in the year 2011. It tells the story of twin sisters; Ayomide and Lefty, who had two different lives, but were reunited. The movie featured Funke Akindele who also doubled as the director and producer, Eniola Badmus, Rachel Oniga, Yinka Quadri, Adebayo Salami, Bimbo Thomas and many others. 

Nine years later, Funke brings back the Saga of this amazing, funny and enlightening movie. Omo Ghetto the saga has scenes shot in Dubai, as Eniola Badmus, Funke Akindele and some other actors were in Dubai shooting before the pandemic. The global shutdown of activities, had a negative impact on Omo Ghetto the saga, as productions had to be stopped

The actress, has got love from people all over the world, being the first Nollywood celebrity to have 11.5 million followers on instagram. Her craft, diligence and hard work speaks a lot for her and her brand, and we hope she enjoys this new year.
