Nollywood star Funke Akindele has achieved another milestone as her latest film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, grossed over ₦1.3 billion within three weeks.
The film, which reached the ₦1 billion mark in just 19 days, is now the fastest Nollywood production to achieve this feat. Akindele shared the news on X.com, noting that the film also accounts for 40% of December’s box office revenue with over 202,000 admissions.
This achievement solidifies Akindele’s status as Nollywood’s “highest-grossing producer and director,” with her films holding the top four spots for highest-grossing Nollywood titles.
“God did! Thank you, Jenifans, for supporting Everybody Loves Jenifa! We couldn’t have gotten here without you,” Akindele said, expressing gratitude to her fans.
The film’s success extends internationally, earning $194,560 (around ₦300 million) just eight days after its release in regions including the UK, US, and Canada.
Akindele’s previous film, Omo Ghetto: The Saga, remains Nollywood’s all-time highest-grossing film with over ₦1.5 billion, while her earlier 2024 release, A Tribe Called Judah, was the first to cross ₦1 billion in 21 days.
