President Adama Barrow of The Gambia arrived on Monday, February 28, 2022, in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo for a two-day working visit.
Re-elected in 2021 for a second term, the Gambian president, who has been in power since 2016, is on his first visit to the Congolese capital.
His visit is part of strengthening bilateral relations between DR Congo and the Gambia.
Barrow was warmly received at the N’djili International Airport by the Congolese Minister for Regional Integration, Didier Mazenga, Police authorities, and a delegation from the Gambian community living in Kinshasa.
According to the Presidency of the DRC, Adama Barrow will have a closed-door meeting on Tuesday, March 1, with the Congolese head of state Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi at the Palais de la Nation.
