APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has dismissed rumors of his alleged defection to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), reaffirming his unwavering loyalty to the ruling party.

Ganduje’s response followed remarks by former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido, who predicted the APC’s collapse and suggested that defectors, including Ganduje, would eventually return to the PDP.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, Ganduje refuted the claim, asserting that it was baseless and illogical. He further stated that instead of him joining the PDP, the APC is more likely to welcome Lamido into its ranks.

Ganduje also criticised the PDP, describing it as a “failing opposition,” and reiterated his commitment to the success of the ruling party.

The APC Chairman predicted that the opppsition will go into extinction by the end of 2025, based on the internal squabbles in the party.

“It is evident to any discerning observer that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC continues to gain momentum, with prominent political figures across the country defecting to the party in large numbers,” the statement said.

“With such overwhelming national support, the APC remains focused on consolidating its achievements and preparing for a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections.”

“In fact, we will soon receive Sule Lamido because very soon he won’t have where to go, the PDP is dead.”

Ganduje reaffirmed pride in leading the APC and reiterated dedication to deepening internal party democracy and promoting sustainable governance and development.

He advised Lamido to focus on resolving the PDP’s internal crises instead of engaging in unfounded speculation.
