Paul Onuachu could leave Belgian club Genk for €25 million, but the club doesn’t want to sell him when the transfer window opens in January.

Premier League teams, including Aston Villa, have recently been linked with Paul Onuachu, who has been projected to transfer to a larger league since being Belgium’s top scorer two seasons ago.

According to a Belgian website, four-time Belgian champions Genk are hesitant to let the 28-year-old Paul Onuachu depart because they are pursuing their first league title since 2019. Their previous Belgian league victories came in 2011, 2002, and 1999. Genk leads the regular season standings by ten points after 17 rounds of fixtures, with 46 points from 17 league games.

“We don’t think he (Onuachu) leave this season because this could be their best chance to win another title,” the publication stated.

The Nigeria international, Paul Onuachu has made headlines in recent years as a consequence of his goal-scoring exploits with the Belgian Pro League club. Two seasons ago, Onuachu scored 33 goals in 38 league appearances. Last season, the striker led the team in scoring with 21 goals in 35 league games. He has now scored 13 goals in 14 league outings this season.
