Ghana’s local currency, the cedi, has seen a slight appreciation on the interbank market against major trading currencies, particularly the US dollar.
According to the Bank of Ghana’s daily update, the cedi is currently trading at a buying price of GH¢10.29 and a selling price of GH¢10.30 to the dollar.
The British pound is being bought at GH¢13.90 and sold at GH¢13.92, while the euro trades at a buying price of GH¢11.87 and a selling price of GH¢11.88.

However, checks by GhanaWeb Business on June 18, 2025, at 8:40 AM reveal that the Ghanaian currency is going for GH¢12.00 to the dollar at some forex bureaus. The pound is selling at GH¢16.90, while the euro is trading at GH¢14.75 in the retail market.
Meanwhile, the Bank of Ghana has announced that Ghana is expected to receive \$360 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in July 2025, a move aimed at further stabilising the cedi.
