The fuss over getting into the University is a big deal for many a student, but not for Jeramy Botwe, a 17-year-old Ghanaian who applied to 15 universities and got into all of them, with eight of the fifteen, Ivy League.
In the eighth grade, Jeramy was voted ‘most likely to succeed’ his father, Kenneth Botwe stated. Kenneth Botwe left Ghana for the US as a teenager and served in the US Air Force, raising Jeramy and his sister Julianah, as a single parent. According to his father, Jeramy worked really hard and is thoroughly deserving of all the plaudits.
Julianah, Jeramy’s older sister expressed her pride for him, and commended the diligence he put into his studies. She continued by saying that she always knew that he could do something like this.
In the coming days till 1 May, Jeramy has to choose between Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Columbia, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Brown University, Stanford University, MIT, Houston and Rice University, University of Chicago, Duke University, and the University of Texas at Austin.
Graduating with a 4.51 GPA, Jeramy wants to become a doctor specializing in treating Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, a fatal degenerative neurological condition that causes progressive weakening.
While the family is basking in the euphoria of his successful admissions, hopefully, more success lies ahead for him.
