The 2023 season of Britain’s Got Talent has begun. The Ghetto Kids, a well-known dance troupe from Uganda, participated in the show.
Simon Cowell, 63, Amanda Holden, 52, Alesha Dixon, 44, and newcomer Bruno Tonioli, 67, continue to serve as the judges.
30 kids who make up The Ghetto Kids reside in an orphanage in Uganda. They gave a powerful performance that had the judges completely speechless.
Bruno Tonioli, an Italian choreographer, couldn’t contain his excitement at The Ghetto Kids’ stage performance and rushed to press the golden buzzer during their presentation.
Tonioli claimed he felt “like exploding” after the event because of their performance.
“I was about to explode. You should be proud of yourself, and I look forward to your return.
Before pressing the buzzer, Tonioli declared, “I’ve got to do it now,” causing the group to immediately begin the live performances.

Who Are The Ghetto Kids?
The Ghetto Kids are a dance/music group founded in 2014 by Daouda Kavuma, composed of children from the Katwe slums in Kampala, Uganda. They have appeared on major platforms across the world, featuring in French Montana’s “Unforgettable” video and performing at a World Cup 2022 event in Qatar.
A video of dancers Alex, Fred, Bachir, Patricia, and Isaac to “Sitya Loss” by Eddy Kenzo became viral in 2014 and received over 8 million views on YouTube and other social media.
Kenzo claimed that he didn’t know about the clip until a friend told him about it. He later asked them to collaborate in the song’s official video, released in September of that same year, marking the beginning of the Ghetto Kids, which allowed them to return to school and allowed founder Daouda Kavuma to buy equipment to develop the group. He composes and produces several pieces of music for the group that toured Africa and the UK in the following months.
Despite their loss, Ghetto Kids have continued their performances, touring around Africa and beyond. On November 30, 2015, 14-year-old Alex passed away in a bicycle accident. The group has drawn praise from American musicians P. Diddy and Nicki Minaj, and in 2017, they appeared in the video for French Montana’s Unforgettable, which helped to launch their career in the country.
In January 2023, the Ghetto Kids travelled to France to perform at half-time during football club Paris Saint-Germain’s home game against Reims at the Parc des Princes. They also met PSG players such as Kylian Mbappé prior to the match.
