Africa will not be able to solve its vaccine sufficiency problem by working individually, former president of the Nigerian Academy of Science and renowned professor of virology, Oyewale Tomori, has said.
Professor Tomori made the statement during an interview on the News Central TV programme, On Slot, on Tuesday.
The former university vice chancellor gave the response when asked what more the continent could do to prepare for future pandemics.
Professor Tomori said the continent’s problem of vaccine insufficiency could be solved if countries worked collectively and not individually.
“Individually, as countries, we cannot solve the problem. We need to work together on a regional basis,” he said.
