Google’s parent company, Alphabet, is working on advanced AI technology to autonomously navigate and operate a web browser, handling tasks such as online research and shopping independently.
The new tool, internally called “Project Jarvis,” is expected to be showcased in December, alongside Google’s highly anticipated Gemini language model, according to sources familiar with the project.
Microsoft-backed OpenAI is similarly exploring autonomous browser navigation, aiming to create a computer-using agent capable of performing actions based on its findings. Anthropic is also in the race, working with Google on software that could interact directly with browsers or other software. Google has yet to comment on these developments.
