Governor Alex Otti has appointed Mr Njoku Ukoha Njoku as the new Chief Press Secretary of Abia State, Nigeria.
Mr Njoku Ukoha Njoku took over from Mr Kazie Uko, who held the position since May 2023.
Prince Okey Kanu, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, confirmed the appointment during a press briefing at the Government House in Umuahia.
He mentioned that the change aims to rejuvenate the administration’s media team, noting Njoku’s reputation in advocacy and media management. He added that Njoku’s expertise and passion for writing will greatly benefit the role.
Regarding Abia students studying at SRI SAI in India, who were neglected by the previous administration, the commissioner announced that Governor Otti has authorised payment of their school fees to ensure they can continue their studies at the Indian university.
Additionally, Governor Otti has approved bursaries for Abia students attending various law schools in Nigeria and has accredited 19 courses at Abia State University, Uturu.
