Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has awarded N10 million to Olawale Mubarak Olaniyi, the overall best-graduating student of Lagos State University (LASU).
This announcement was made on Thursday at the university’s 27th convocation grand finale in Lagos.
The Senior Special Assistant to Governor Sanwo-Olu on New Media, Jubril Gawat, confirmed that Governor Sanwo-Olu presented the reward to Olawale during the ceremony on Thursday, June 6, 2024.
Recognisinng the outstanding achievements of the top graduates, Sanwo-Olu extended special congratulations to Olawale for attaining a CGPA of 4.98 in Accounting Education.
Gawat wrote on X:
“FLASH: Governor of Lagos State, Mr #jidesanwoolu has announced a token of N10m for the overall best-graduating student of Lagos State University (#LASUOfficial), Olaniyi Mubaraq Olawale, Accounting Education, who graduated with a CGPA of 4.98.
“Mr Governor made this announcement today at the Lagos State University (LASU) Grand Finale of the 27th Convocation Ceremony.”
LASU, in a press release published on its site, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu’s government for its “commitment to fostering a culture of academic brilliance and rewarding outstanding performance.”
The Institution also praised Olaniyi’s exceptional brilliance and “outstanding achievements.”
“Olawale Mubarak Olaniyi, distinguished himself through exemplary dedication, diligence, and exceptional academic prowess throughout his academic performance at Lagos State University.
“His outstanding achievements not only reflect his personal commitment to excellence but also exemplify the high standards of education and the nurturing environment provided by the institution,” the statement read.
