Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has appointed second class emirs into Karaye, Rano and Gaya Emirates.
According to the Director General, Media and Publicity to the governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the newly appointed emirs are
Alhaji Muhammad Maharaz Karaye as Emir of Karaye. He was District Head of Rogo until his appointment; Alhaji Muhammad Isa Umaru as the emir of Rano. Umaru was the district head of Bunkure.
However , the Governor reinstated the deposed emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir Gaya as emir of Gaya.
Gaya had accepted his fate and expressed willingness to work in any capacity after his deposition was announced few months ago.
Governor Yusuf commended the newly appointed emirs and urged them to uphold the cultural ethos, promote peace and unity among their subjects.
The appointments take immediate effect.
