Grammys Host Trevor Noah Takes a Dig at Los Angeles

South Africa-born TV personality, Trevor Noah opened the 65th Annual Grammys Sunday from the top of the Crypto.com arena with a lighthearted dig at Los Angeles.

“It’s the best city in the world if you ignore a few other cities,” he said before quickly handing over the reins to Bad Bunny’s opening performance.

This is Noah’s third time hosting the Grammy Awards, which returned to its original location in Los Angeles after being held in Las Vegas last year.

The seating arrangement was changed to accommodate the post-pandemic requirements – tables replaced the traditional rows of chairs, allowing attendees to dance along with Bad Bunny’s vibrant troupe. Later in the show, Kendrick Lamar referred to the tables as “cute as hell.”

Noah delivered a number of timely jokes, making Harry Styles blush at one point.

‘Harry Styles is here tonight, that’s right,’ the South African comedian, 38, said of the 29-year-old singer at the luxe event. ‘What can you say about this man that hasn’t been said? Incredible album, mind-blowing – what is it 15-night run at MSG and The Forum?

Noah continued, ‘Women throw their panties at this man and then he puts them on and he looks better in them than they do! Easily the world’s sexiest man!’

Noah called the As It Was singer the ‘sex symbol of the globe, especially now that they killed off the green M&M.’
Some people took to social media to say Styles appeared a bit uncomfortable following the jokes from Noah.

Tems, Burna Boy from Nigeria, Angelique Kidjo from Benin Republic, Eddy Kenzo from Zimbabwe, South Africa’s Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini, Nomcebo Zikode are all nominees at The Grammys.
