 Egypt’s green housing units will be open to citizens by the end of the year 2023, the CEO of the Social Housing Fund, Engineer Mai Abdel Hamid has confirmed.

Abdel Hamid added that African countries are keen to learn about the Egyptian models in sustainable housing.

Abdel Hamid also said the 38th annual conference of the African Union for Housing Finance will open Tuesday, entitled “A Green Urban Future for Affordable Housing”.

The conference which is hosted by the Social Housing Fund and Real Estate Finance Support in partnership with the African Union for Finance intends to exchange housing financing ideas with African countries.

She further pointed out that green housing is social housing apartments have inbuilt solar energy, a gray water system, re-processed and used in irrigation.

The Centre for Affordable Housing Finance in Africa (CAHF) is the Secretariat of the AUHF. It seeks to enable a productive housing finance sector across Africa where governments and the private sector work together to develop and maintain efficient and effective housing markets and access to adequate and affordable housing for all.
