Mason Greenwood finally ended his tumultuous Manchester United career after he signed up for the French club Marseille in 2029 in a deal worth up to £26.6 million.
The 22-year-old player came up through United’s academy but hasn’t played for the Premier League club since January 2022 after he was accused of attempted rape and assault.
The charges were dropped in February 2023, and he moved to Spain to spend a season on loan at Getafe. In 36 appearances, he scored ten goals and made six assists as he sought to revive his career.
He made his competitive senior debut for United in a 2019 Champions League game against PSG and scored 35 goals in 129 appearances.
United announced last year that Greenwood would leave the club by mutual agreement after a six-month internal review of his conduct.
