The Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed the kidnapping of multiple Muslim worshippers during the early morning (Subhi) prayer in the Bushe community, located within the Sabon Birni Local Government Area.
The command’s spokesperson, DSP Ahmed Rufai, confirmed the incident and said that police were collaborating with other security agencies to rescue the abducted victims.
According to reports, assailants invaded a mosque in Bushe town at dawn on Thursday, seizing at least 10 worshippers, including the Imam.
The source noted that the community had endured a series of attacks despite the deployment of security personnel, including troops from Operation Fasan Yamma under the Nigerian Army’s 8 Division headquarters.
