Eze James Nnamdi (Mirioma), the traditional ruler of the Ezuhu Umuamadi Nguru Autonomous Community in the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, was brutally murdered by unidentified assailants.
At his residence in the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, the incident happened on Monday afternoon.
The traditional ruler was shot many times when the assailants broke into his home, according to Henry Okoye, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, who verified this terrible incident in a statement.
He claimed that after being shot numerous times, the traditional leader was eventually taken to a neighbouring hospital for treatment, but he was unable to live.
The PPRO, however, said the Imo State Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Barde, has condemned the incident in its entirety and has set up a high powered team to investigate this case and ensure that the perpetrators of this dastardly act are arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.
This is coming after a Councillor representing Eha-Ulo Ward in Nsukka Local Government Area Legislative Council, Enugu State, Nelson Syvester, popularly known as Ofunwa, was shot dead by unknown persons.
The Enugu State Command confirmed the murder of the lawmaker. It was gathered that the lawmaker was murdered by gunmen on Sunday night at his residence in Eha-Alumonah.
