Five days after being charged with rape, Achraf Hakimi was named to Paris Saint-Germain’s starting lineup against Bayern Munich.
On Saturday, February 25, the Moroccan was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at his home in Paris. He was interrogated later that week and charged the following Thursday.
The 24-year-old was omitted from PSG’s Ligue 1 match against Nantes on Saturday, but he returned to training on Monday. He was available for the game on Wednesday because French law allows him to leave the country, and it was his first appearance since the charge.
Despite their best efforts, Paris Saint-Germain were defeated by Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.
There was a fantastic atmosphere in Munich ahead of what was sure to be a fantastic European battle. The goal for the Parisians was simple: make up for the 1-0 first-leg deficit from three weeks ago.
