Popular Hollywood actor, John Amos is dead. John Amos, recognised for his role in ‘Coming To America‘ and ‘Good Times’, died at the age of 84.
On Tuesday, his son, Kelly Christopher Amos, announced that the actor died of natural causes on August 21.
“It is with heartfelt sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned. He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold and he was loved world over.
“Many fans consider him as their TV father. His legacy will live on in his outstanding works in television and film as an actor,” he announced.
Amos Jr. was born on December 27, 1939. Before pursuing his acting career, he was a college football player at Colorado State University. Additionally, he briefly played professional football and even spent part of the 1967 offseason with the Kansas City Chiefs of the American Football League.
