Forbes said on Monday that Dalyce Curry, a retired Hollywood actress who starred in films like “The Blues Brothers,” “The Ten Commandments,” and “Lady Sings the Blues,” died in the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles. She died at 95.
Authorities verified that Curry’s remains were discovered in her Altadena, California, burned-out home.
Curry was last seen on the evening of January 7th, when her great-granddaughter, Dalyce Kelley, said that Kelley had dropped her off at home.
The next morning, Kelley tried to visit her but couldn’t get past police barricades in the vicinity.
Curry was nowhere to be found in the Pasadena Civic Centre, which had been used as a shelter for displaced communities.
Officials verified a few days later that her remains had been found at the location of her demolished house.
“Her remains were discovered at the property, the coroner announced about an hour ago,” Kelley posted the message, “#RIPMOMMADEE,” on Facebook on Sunday, January 12.
“Our run was fantastic. She had a profound effect on my life. This is a terrible loss.”
According to Loree Beamer-Wilkinson, her granddaughter, “she was very active.” “It’s hard to believe she’s 95.”
Curry is one of at least 24 people who have died as a result of the flames in the Los Angeles area.
