Several celebrities who attended last night’s Emmys made a strong political statement by wearing ceasefire pins, urging an immediate end to Israel’s bombing of Gaza. Among those seen with the symbolic pin—featuring a red background, an orange hand, and a black heart—was Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan.
The pins are part of a campaign by Artists4Ceasefire, calling for a permanent ceasefire, the safe return of hostages, and the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza’s civilians. Other prominent figures showing their support included Reservation Dogs stars Dallas Goldtooth and Devery Jacobs, Abbott Elementary writer Brittani Nichols, and Caroline Joyner.
Coughlan, who has worn the pin before while promoting Bridgerton, spoke about her commitment to the cause: “I feel very passionately about it,” she said, mentioning her Irish background and the importance of using her global platform to raise awareness and funds for aid organisations.
The call for a ceasefire comes as Gaza faces a severe humanitarian crisis, with over 41,226 Palestinians killed and 95,413 injured since the conflict escalated in October 2023, according to the Palestine Ministry of Health.
