Dr Musa Adamu Aliyu, Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, has revealed how the commission, in collaboration with the Bureau of Public Procurement, successfully intercepted and blocked $300,000 set aside for a students’ Information and Communication Technology program that was being funnelled through suspicious accounts.
Aliyu emphasised the need for sister agencies to work together to prevent corrupt officials from engaging in illegal operations.
He explained, “It was BPP who gave us the idea since something weird was happening with students’ ICT. It was then that we had to check closely and make recovery, banning $300,000 in one of the accounts and retrieving an expensive vehicle.”
