With just a few weeks to the start of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Senegal international Ismaila Sarr has expressed significant doubts about his fitness after admitting to being exhausted.
The Senegal international scored the game-winning goal as the Hornets defeated Cardiff City 2-1 in the Championship. Cedric Kipre scored for the Welsh before Francisco Sierralta and Sarr responded for the visitors, who now have 29 points.
Sarr has now scored six goals and provided four assists in 14 games for the Hornets this season. Despite winning the game, the Lion of Teranga warned that fatigue is gradually infiltrating the team.
“I’m very tired—the whole team is—but I’m very happy because we secured another good win and I managed to score a goal to help the team,” Sarr stated, according to the club’s website.
He added, “I’m very happy to have scored my sixth goal of the season. It’s been a good start, but I’m very hungry for more, and I will try my best to keep scoring so we can win as many games as possible.”
Sarr’s tiredness is a problem for most teams going into the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. This is because they haven’t had enough time to rest or get ready because of their busy club football schedules.
The attacker is a significant member of Aliou Cisse’s Senegal team.
