I Dream Of Owning A Football Club – Ghana Dancehall Star, Stonebwoy

I dream of owning a football club

Ghanaian Afropop, dance hall and reggae singer, Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known by his stage name Stonebwoy, has revealed another side of him aside from music.

The 32-year-old, who is a big football fan, says he dreams of owning a football club.

Stonebwoy’s only surviving brother, Elijah Selasi Satekla, though a lover of music has chosen a different path: football. And Stonebwoy, a football player, himself dreams of buying a club someday.

For the video for his latest smash hit, Putuu, he featured Togolese former Premier League star Emmanuel Adebayor. The gangly footballer did not disappoint as he turned his fancy footwork on the pitch to some compelling dance moves.

Talking about his dreams of owning a football club, the singer said, “it’s possible, who knows, let’s see how God works it out because once it’s a thing that gives back to people and creates employment and makes people’s dreams come true, I’m all for it.”

Like many highly successful African musicians, Stonebwoy is keen to leave a positive legacy with his wealth and influence. Apart from releasing an album – Anloga Junction – and a single – Putuu – during the lockdown, the pandemic has also been a time of reflection for Stonebwoy.

“I’ve had a lot of time to realise that we belong to the earth, the earth doesn’t belong to us. Corona didn’t just come naturally, it definitely came out of man’s reactions and stuff,” he said in a media interview.
