The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has expressed his condolences to the Kano State Command, as well as to the families and friends of five police officers who tragically lost their lives in a motor accident on Tuesday.
The officers were returning to Kano from election duties in Edo State when the incident occurred in Karfi village, Kura Local Government Area of Kano State.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by Force spokesman Muyiwa Adejobi, the IGP honoured the sacrifice of the fallen officers and offered prayers for the repose of their souls.
Egbetokun also commended the professionalism of police personnel and other security agencies during the recent Edo State governorship elections, noting that the peaceful conduct of the election reflects the dedication and hard work of the security forces.
