Iheanacho Bags First EPL Hat-Trick as Leicester Devour Sheffield

Leicester proved too wild for Sheffield United on Sunday as Nigerian attacker, Kelechi Iheanacho put up his finest performance yet at the club in a 5-0 drubbing of their visitors.

Iheanacho who has been on song in the past few weeks continued his hot scoring streak, as he bagged a hat-trick against the hapless Blades.

It was his first Premier League treble and one of his best performances in the English top flight.

The attacker opened scoring in the 39th minute as he was assisted by Jamie Vardy. The Englishman found Iheanacho again in the 68th minute before a Wilfred Ndidi pass found him ten minutes later as he powered a low drive past Sheffield goalkeeper, Aaron Ramsdale.

Nacho, as he’s called by his admirers has scored in three consecutive Premier League games for the first time since he arrived Manchester City as a teenager in 2017.

The last three hat-tricks in the EPL were scored by Africans including Pierre Emerick Aubameyang’s treble against Leeds United and Riyad Mahrez’s against Burnley.

Also in the game, South African youngster, Khanya Leshabela made his Leicester debut as he was introduced by the Foxes’ coach, Brendan Rodgers after they had completed the 5-0 rout in Sheffield.
