Iheanacho Makes History in Leicester Loss to Chelsea

The Nigerian attacker became the first player in the history of the Premier League to score in all seven days of the week in a single league campaign.

Iheanacho, who has enjoyed some sort of rejuvenation scored his 11th goal in 11 games since March as Chelsea took their pound of flesh, in what could be important to their top four hopes.

Recall that the Foxes, featuring four Africans including Iheanacho’s compatriot Wilfred Ndidi, Daniel Amartey of Ghana and Senegal midfielder Papis Mendy, defeated Chelsea 1-0 in the FA Cup final.

Chelsea also had Senegalese goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy in goal as his team ran out winners in the tense affair at Stamford Bridge.

Iheanacho’s return to reckoning after a dry spell has earned him the tag “Seniorman”.

The attacker, who led Nigeria to rule the world in 2013 as part of the Golden Eaglets, had a rather slow start to life at the King’s Power Stadium.

His fortunes have since changed as he has scored more regularly since the turn of the year.

His friend, compatriot and teammate, Ndidi assisted his goal against Chelsea and it was the third time both players will combine this season.
