President Bola Tinubu believes that Nigerian workers, as the country’s driving force, earn better benefits, advanced hires, and safer working conditions.
Tinubu made these views while meeting with the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress( NLC), led by Joe Ajaero, and the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC), led by Comrade Festus Osifo, in Abuja on Thursday.
According to a statement transferred by his media assistant, Ajuri Ngelale, the President is concerned about the well- being of Nigerian workers, and his administration is prioritising their issues.
“ I concentrate on everything around me. A happy hand is a productive bone. And society depends on the productivity of the happy worker, ” the President stated.
still, the President called for realistic prospects regarding the minimal pay envelope question, stating “ You have to cut your fleece according to your cloth.
Before we can finalise the minimal pay envelope process, we’ve to look at the structure.
“ Why must we acclimate stipend every five times? Why not two? Why not three times? What’s a problem moment can be eased up hereafter.
There’s important energy to this process if we aren’t myopic in our approaches. We can take a surgical approach that’s grounded on pragmatism and a deep understanding of all factors. ”
‘ Find a Balance ’
In his reflections, Ajaero emphasised the need for an upward adaptation to the minimal pay envelope, noting “ Between living pay envelope and minimal pay envelope, we need to find a balance effects are delicate for the Nigerian worker. ”
He complimented the President on the judgement of the Supreme Court affirming the indigenous rights of original governments regarding fiscal autonomy and other salient principles.

He said the rollout of Compressed Natural Gas- powered motorcars will help in checking the high cost of transportation, while the recent directive on the suspense of duty on certain food significances will bring down the prices of food particulars if duly enforced.
