The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election is ongoing in Akure, Ondo State. So far, seven Ondo PDP aspirants have been screened and cleared by the screening committee led by the former governor of Ebonyi State, Senator Sam Egwu.
The election is holding at the International Culture and and Events Centre in the state capital.
The aspirants include former deputy governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi, Adeolu Akinwumi, Sola Ebiseeni, Bamidele Akingboye, Kolade Akinjo, Bosun Arebuwa and John Mafo.
Conducting the election is the chairman of the seven-man committee, the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
627 delegates from the 18 local government areas of the state are expected to participate in the Ondo PDP primaries as accreditation began at 10 a.m.
