Independence Day: President Tinubu to Address Nation on October 1

Ten Things to Take Away from Tinubu's Speech

Nigeria’s president Bola Ahmed Tinubu is scheduled to address the nation on Tuesday October 1, 2024, at 7 a.m.

This was announced by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, in a statement released on Monday.

According to Onanuga, the broadcast is one of the significant activities lined up to commemorate the country’s 64th Independence Day celebrations.

Onanuga urged television, radio stations, and other electronic media to connect to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) and the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) network services for live coverage of the President’s speech.

This will be President Tinubu’s first national address since his August 2024 speech during the #EndBadGovernance protests.

The Independence Day broadcast is expected to highlight key national issues and the government’s ongoing efforts toward the nation’s development, as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
