Casualties feared as Indian passenger plane crashes in northern Afghanistan’s Badakhshan province, according to local media.
Confirming the incident, Zabihullah Amiri, an official of provincial department of information and culture said on Sunday morning: “an Indian passenger plane crashed in the mountains of Topkhana alongside the districts of Kuran-Munjan and Zibak of Badakhshan province.”
Amiri added that an emergency team has been dispatched to the area to investigate the incident.
Badakshan is a highly under developed province of Afghanistan and shares borders with Tajikistan in the north and with Pakistan in the south east.
