Thugs Disrupt Collation in Adamawa, Attack Stakeholders, Destroy Property (News Central TV)

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Sunday adjourned the collation of results in Adamawa State till Monday amid tension following contention over the result of the Fufore Local Government Area.

The Adamawa state collation officer, Professor Muhammad Lamin Mele, had announced results from 20 out of 21 local government areas before disagreement ensued among party agents over the authenticity of the result from Fufore.

Around 2am on Monday, miscreants encircled the INEC Collation Centre and forbade anyone from entering or leaving the building.

For some people to evacuate the area, the army, police, and other security organisations had to work together.

The assailants destroyed our correspondent’s car during the incident, shattering the back windshield. The reporter, together with a cameraman and a pressman, were able to flee.

Due to arguments on the results, the announcement of the Fufore Local Government Area (LGA) results was postponed to 12 pm.
