INEC's Zamfara Office Destroyed by Fire (News Central TV)

A fire incident has ravaged an office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Zamfara State, situated in the Kaura Namoda Local Government Area.

The fire reportedly started at about 9pm on Monday night razing the entire facility. Residents say, although firefighters arrived at the scene in good time to put out the fire, their efforts were unsuccessful as a result of the lack of water in their firetrucks.

Efforts to reach the State INEC Head of Voter Education and Publicity proved unsuccessful as he was not responding to calls as at the time of filing this report. INEC authorities at the national office are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident. The Zamfara State Police Command is also yet to confirm the incident.
