An inquest has begun into Club Africain’s record 8-0 CAF Champions League loss to TP Mazembe.
The club’s leadership have revealed their desire to dig deeper for answers into the team’s shambolic record defeat in the DR Congo.
Club sources say they have now decided to send doping samples collected from certain players after the match to a laboratory in France.
Upon the team’s return from DR Congo, the club conducted tests on the samples with the results coming back negative.
Team officials are however still unsatisfied and have now sent the same samples abroad for further analysis.
A source said “the management of Club Africain has decided to send a sample of the analysis of players Sanad Khemissi, Chiheb Salhi and Manoubi Haddad to a French laboratory in order to check their health after their return from the DR Congo.”
Club Africain suffered the heaviest defeat in the history of the CAF Champions League when they fell 8-0 to TP Mazembe away from home.
