The All-Share Index rose 0.51 per cent from Friday’s 46,631.46 to close at 46,867.95 points on Monday.
Similarly, the market capitalisation increased by N127.49 billion, or 0.51 per cent, to N25.266 trillion on Friday, up from N25.266 trillion the day before.
The market’s excellent performance was fueled by purchasing an interest in MTNN, a telecommunications business, as well as gains in Tier-1 banks Zenith Bank, ACCESSCORP, and United Bank for Africa (UBA).
The market breadth was favourable at the closing, with 32 stocks rising against 13 falling.
NAHCO’s stock rose 10% to conclude at N5.50 per share, while UACN’s stock rose 9.9% to close at N11.10 a share, putting it at the top of the gainers’ list.
Meyer closed at N1.24 per share, up 9.73 per cent.
Royal Exchange Insurance and Learn Africa closed at N1.04 and N1.89 per share, respectively, up 9.47 per cent and 9.25 per cent.
Cutix also jumped by 8.11 per cent to N2.40 per share, while WAPIC increased by 7.50 per cent to N43,000.
ACADEMY, on the other hand, fell 9.60% to settle at N1.60 per share, leading the losers’ leaderboard.
Mutual Benefit Assurance trailed by 7.69%, closing at $24,000 per share.
Japaul Gold fell 5.88 per cent to 32k per share, while Multiverse was down 4.55 per cent to 21k per share.
Prestige Insurance closed at 43.44 per share, down 4.44 percent.
Unity Bank depreciated by 2.13 percent to conclude at 46k per share, while FTNCocoa fell 3.18 percent to settle at 31k.
Meanwhile, the overall number of shares moved fell 1.20 per cent, with 224.64 million shares exchanged vs 154.12 million shares traded in 5,946 trades on Friday.
Furthermore, the total value of transactions posted increased to N3.82 billion from N1.75 billion on April 7. This represents a 117 per cent increase.
GTCO also topped the day’s volume chart, with 43.26 million shares worth N994.25 billion traded.
Zenith Bank came in second with 31.125 million shares valued at N740.24 million.
Fidelity Bank sold 13.84 million shares for N51.184 million, while Sterling Bank sold 23.42 million shares worth N35.117 million.
NAHCO sold N7.86 million shares for N42.58 million, while ACCESSCORP sold 12.38 million shares worth N124.736 million.
MTNN also topped the value chart with deals worth a total of $1.03 billion.
