Iraq has lodged a formal complaint with the United Nations Security Council, accusing Israel of “violation of Iraqi airspace” during a significant attack on Iran, Baghdad’s foreign ministry announced on Friday.
The ministry condemned these actions as a “flagrant violation of Iraq’s sovereignty” and urged the Security Council to “assume its responsibilities” to prevent future breaches.

This complaint follows the discovery of three missiles in Iraqi desert areas early Friday: one unexploded in central Diyala province and two others in the southern Dhi Qar province. Security sources reported that the rockets in Dhi Qar created a four-meter (13-foot) deep crater upon impact.
The Iraqi government has vehemently denounced Israel’s “military aggression” against Iran, labelling it a “blatant violation of the fundamental principles of international law.”
Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani, a revered religious authority for millions of Shiite Muslims globally, also condemned the incident as “the crime committed by the entity occupying Palestine” and called upon the international community to pressure Israel and its allies to prevent such attacks from recurring.
