Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, announced on Monday that a new agency would be formed to handle the voluntary departure of Gaza residents. This follows Israel’s commitment to a proposal from the United States for the resettlement of Palestinians, with the potential for them to relocate to third countries, such as Egypt or Jordan, without the possibility of a return.
The plan includes comprehensive support for those wishing to emigrate, including arrangements for travel via sea, air, or land.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also affirmed Israel’s commitment to the US proposal, asserting that following the war, Gaza would no longer be governed by Hamas or the Palestinian Authority.
However, the US-backed plan, which involves the resettlement of Palestinians from Gaza, has triggered significant international criticism due to its controversial nature, a lack of detailed implementation steps, and the lack of an assurance that Palestinians would be allowed to return.
