Power was cut in several towns in Upper Galilee, northern Israel, following a significant rocket barrage launched by Hezbollah from Lebanon. According to Israel’s Channel 12, the Israeli Defense Forces reported observing the launch of “102 rockets” during the evening hours of Wednesday. In total, the network claimed that approximately 220 rockets had been fired from Lebanon towards northern Israel since Wednesday morning.
Hezbollah further asserted that it successfully destroyed three Israeli Merkava tanks with guided missiles as they advanced towards Maroun Al-Ras in southern Lebanon. The group reported that its fighters also detonated an explosive device when Israeli infantry entered a house near Kfar Kila, resulting in casualties among Israeli soldiers.
Additionally, Israeli invasion forces were targeted in the Matala orchards, as well as a helicopter flying over the Beit Hillel settlement in Israel. Muhammad Afifi, a spokesman for Hezbollah, stated, “The occupation army is not announcing its casualty figures.” He claimed, “We killed a large number of enemy troops during clashes in Adaisseh and Maroun Al-Ras in southern Lebanon, but the enemy is imposing a blackout on this information. What happened in those towns is only the beginning, and the movement is at the highest levels of preparedness in the south.”
The recent escalation follows a large-scale attack launched by the Israeli Defense Forces on Lebanon on September 23, marking the heaviest conflict since the onset of cross-border exchanges with Hezbollah about a year ago. This assault resulted in the deaths of numerous Hezbollah political and military leaders, including Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah.
