Israel Issues Travel Warnings for 15 Countries Ahead of Jewish Holidays

The National Security Council of Israel has issued a travel warning for 15 countries ahead of the Jewish holiday season, advising citizens to avoid these destinations until further notice. The council, affiliated with the Israeli army, has specifically prohibited travel to Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, classifying it as a level 4 threat—indicating a high risk.

Countries considered dangerous for Israeli travellers include Egypt, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iran, and Turkiye. The warning highlights the increased risks Israelis face when travelling to these areas.

Additionally, the council urged caution regarding social media activity, advising against sharing any content that could identify a traveller as having served in or being connected to Israel’s security forces. “Such information increases the risk of being marked as a target for attack,” the council warned.

This advisory follows Israel’s recent military actions in Lebanon, where more than 620 people were killed, and in Gaza, where over 41,500 Palestinians have died since October 7, many of whom women and children.
