Israel’s military has warned that Iran’s missile strike on Tuesday will not go unanswered, though the specific response remains unclear. Rear-Admiral Daniel Hagari, spokesperson for the Israel Defence Forces (IDF), emphasised that the attack was severe and would lead to consequences, though he refrained from providing details on the timing or nature of Israel’s retaliation.
Hagari confirmed that, while several missiles struck central and southern Israel, there were no reports of casualties. “We are on high alert both defensively and offensively,” Hagari stated during a televised address. “We will defend the citizens of the State of Israel. This attack will have consequences. We have plans, and we will operate at the place and time we decide.”
The missile barrage from Iran came as a direct response to Israel’s recent military actions targeting Hezbollah forces in Lebanon, a group allied with Tehran. Air raid sirens blared across Israel, with explosions heard in Jerusalem and the Jordan Valley, prompting Israelis to seek shelter.
