Israeli Airstrikes Damage Kamal Adwan Hospital in Northern Gaza

Israeli forces targeted the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, on Sunday, according to reports. The strike comes as part of a broader and ongoing bombardment campaign across northern Gaza.

Hossam Abu Safiya, the hospital’s director, stated that Israeli airstrikes damaged the hospital’s water tanks and electricity grid, significantly affecting its ability to provide medical services. He emphasised that the surrounding area had been under continuous bombing and gunfire for several hours, endangering both patients and medical staff.

The assault on Kamal Adwan Hospital is part of intensified air and artillery strikes that have battered northern Gaza for 16 consecutive days. The Jabalia refugee camp and its vicinity have also been heavily hit, with witnesses describing thick smoke rising from the devastated neighbourhoods.

Civilian infrastructure across northern Gaza has faced severe damage, with witnesses reporting attacks near other medical facilities, including Al-Awda and Al-Yemen Al-Saeed hospitals, as strikes continue.

Medical sources reported that Israeli forces have blocked tens of thousands of Palestinians in their homes in northern Gaza, restricting access to essential food and water supplies for over two weeks, creating an escalating humanitarian crisis.

Since Hamas’s cross-border incursion on October 7, 2023, Israeli forces have killed over 42,500 people in Gaza, turning much of the region into rubble and displacing the majority of its population.
