Mandy Damari, mother of Emily Damari, an Israeli captive recently released by Hamas as part of a prisoner exchange, expressed relief that her daughter’s health is “much better” than expected.
In a written statement, Mandy described the joy of reuniting with Emily after her time in Gaza and thanked the Israeli public for their unwavering support during the ordeal.
Emily has been adjusting well since her release, with Mandy noting that she has reclaimed her life and is now “the happiest girl in the world.”
The Damari family has called for continued adherence to the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas to ensure the safe return of other Israeli captives still held in Gaza.
The prisoner swap on Sunday resulted in the release of three Israeli women, including Emily, while Israel freed 90 Palestinian prisoners under the terms of the deal.
