ISWAP Ambush Police Convoy in Northern Nigeria, Kill Two Security Personnel (News Central TV)

ISWAP insurgents have ambushed a police convoy in Kaga LGA of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria, killing two security personnel and injuring others.

News Central gathered that the assailants perpetrated the attack around 8.30am at Goni Masari general area on Sunday May 22.

It was learnt that the assailants were lurking around waiting to ambush some troops when the police convoy commuting from Dmaturu ran into them and met their waterloo.

Two police officers were killed, two injured, and one Hilux van was also set ablaze during the onslaught by ISWAP.

Meanwhile, on Sunday, at least 50 civilians were killed by Boko Haram insurgents on Sunday around the town of Rann in Nigeria’s Borno state.

Sources say the insurgents invaded the village on motorcycles, wielding heavy ammunition, and shot sporadically, killing defenceless locals.

On May 18, News Central reported that a notorious preacher and leader of Jamā’at Ahl as-Sunnah lid-Da’wah wa’l-Jihād (JAS), Boko Haram terrorists’ group, Alhaji Ari-Difinoma, surrendered to the Nigerian Army.

It was gathered that Ari-Difinoma surrendered to the troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade Bama, Operation Hadin Kai, on May 16, 2022.
