JAMB Releases Additional 531 Results

Nigeria’s Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has released an additional 531 results from the recently concluded 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination held across Nigeria.

Earlier, the Board had withheld 64,000 results for screening, as stated in a statement by JAMB spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in Abuja, Nigeria.

Dr. Benjamin noted that the Board is continuing with the screening of over 64,000 withheld results, with an additional 531 results now released, bringing the total number of released results to 1,842,897. During the screening process, 92 cases of examination misconduct were established, up from the initial 81 discovered.

Furthermore, cases of unverified candidates are being investigated, and the Board will soon announce its position on the matter.

Dr. Benjamin denounced false publications alleging that an unknown candidate, who did not sit for the 2024 UTME, obtained scores, labelling such claims as fake and malicious attempts to undermine the Board’s integrity. He urged the public to disregard such irresponsible publications.

In response to these allegations, Dr. Benjamin emphasised the meticulous design of the board’s examination template, refuting claims of scores being allocated to candidates arbitrarily. He highlighted the importance of candidates safeguarding their details and cautioned against disclosing classified information to third parties.

Investigations revealed that some mischief makers edited results sent to other candidates, presenting them as originating from the board. Dr. Benjamin challenged anyone with such claims to provide evidence and urged candidates to be cautious about associating with such individuals.

To bolster security measures, the board plans to enhance the UTME result-checking process by adding more features like registration numbers, making it more personalised and stringent against manipulation.

Dr. Benjamin reiterated that the method of checking the 2024 UTME results remains sending UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 and not through any other process. He clarified that the results are not currently available on the board’s website.

Dr. Benjamin warned candidates against collaborating with mischievous elements and assured that JAMB will continue to protect the integrity of its systems against malicious actors.
