The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has reaffirmed that registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will not be extended past March 8.
The spokesperson for the board, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, made this statement in a press release that was issued in Abuja on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Benjamin stated that, as previously announced, the registration period, which began on February 3rd, will end on March 8, 2025.
“The 2025 UTME exercise official calendar and all advertisements have made this deadline very clear,” he said.

“We would like to notify all potential applicants that the registration time will not be extended. Given the recent drop in the number of candidates signing up for the test, this notice is very crucial.
He continued, “We encourage everyone who wants to take part to register as soon as possible and not wait until the last minute.”
Benjamin said that more than 1.5 million applicants have already registered, in line with the board’s expectations for the 2025 examination cycle.
“The Board’s calendar is set, and following registration, there are several other planned events, such as the examination, results processing, and admissions procedure.
“We coordinate these timelines with other agencies whose operations rely on our processes being completed.” Consequently, he clarified, “Extending the registration period would interfere with our partners’ plans in addition to JAMB’s.”
Benjamin urged candidates to register as soon as possible and to meet the 2025 UTME deadline.
