James Rodriguez’s contract with Sao Paulo has been terminated. The Colombia playmaker, who is now a free agent, has one year left on the deal but decided to leave earlier.
The 33-year-old, who has played for Bayern Munich, Everton and Real Madrid, hopes to return to Europe.
Rodriguez was the driving force behind his country’s second-place performance at the recent Copa America.
Rodriguez, who earned the title of Player of the Tournament, also established a new tournament record by providing six assists.
