Japanese Bags 20 Years In Jail In South Africa For Killing 74-Year-Old Mom

A 36 years old man, Kwanele Mqeni, has been sentenced to jail in South Africa for allegedly killing his 74-year-old mom.

The convict, a Japanese Cape man, was sentenced to 20 years in jail by the Grahamstown excessive court.

Mqeni was arrested in September 2019.

In July 2019, Mqeni was first arrested for assaulting his members of the family at Diphini Locality, Mooiplaas Village, East London.

Mqeni’s mom submitted an announcement to the East London Justice of the Peace’s court docket requesting her son to be released.

Her request was granted and he was released on warning on September 2.

On the evening he was released, he stabbed his 74-year-old mom.

“He attacked his disabled elder brother, who was rescued by the group members,” the police stated.

Mqeni was convicted of homicide within the Grahamstown excessive court docket on Friday.

Still in South Africa, Witbank regional court docket on Monday sentenced a thirty-eight-year-old pastor, Sthembiso Nathaniel Kubheka to 30 years’ imprisonment.

He was convicted on one count of rape and 4 counts of sexual assault.

The provincial police commissioner of Mpumalanga, Lt-Gen Mondli Zuma, was happy with the large years in jail which the court gave to the pastor after he was convicted of sexually assaulting boys.
