Joe Biden Addresses Memory Concerns Amidst Gaffe, Refers to Egyptian President as 'President of Mexico'

President Joe Biden of the United States responded to a report from Justice Department Special Counsel Robert Hur, who alleged concerns about Biden’s memory, during a press conference on Thursday. Despite defending his mental acuity, Biden made a gaffe by referring to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi as “the president of Mexico.”

The press conference featured Biden acknowledging an investigation into his handling of classified documents. He vehemently refuted suggestions from Hur’s report regarding his memory, particularly regarding his son Beau Biden’s passing, stating, “How in the hell dare he raise that?” Biden asserted, “I know what the hell I’m doing.”

Responding emotionally to questions about his son’s death, Biden deemed it “wasn’t any of their damn business” and disclosed wearing Beau’s rosary daily since 2015. However, his omission of the church’s name prompted criticism and speculation.

Addressing Israel’s continuous bombardment of Gaza, Biden referred to el-Sisi as the president of Mexico when discussing humanitarian aid transportation.

Regarding responsibility for mishandling documents, Joe Biden attributed the fault to his staff, admitting oversight on his part.

Hur’s report highlighted concerns about Biden’s memory, suggesting it could impact potential legal proceedings. Biden claimed he didn’t recall finding classified materials post-vice presidency, expressing willingness to cooperate with investigations.

Comparisons were drawn between Biden’s case and former President Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents, with Hur noting discrepancies in their approaches.
