The troops of the Joint Task Force, North-West, Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD), have achieved significant success by rescuing 13 kidnapped victims and apprehending 11 suspected logistics suppliers to a notorious terrorist kingpin in Zamfara State.
In a statement issued on Monday, Captain Yahaya Ibrahim, the spokesperson for Operation Hadarin Daji, revealed that on December 17, 2023, the combined troops initiated a search and rescue operation along Gobirawan Chali and Dangulbi areas, spanning the Dansadau axis in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. During this operation, the troops successfully rescued 13 kidnapped victims abandoned by fleeing terrorists in the late hours of Sunday.
All the rescued victims hail from Mutunji village of Dansadau Emirate in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State. Currently, they are undergoing medical treatment and debriefing.
The statement emphasized, “All the rescued victims were handed over to a representative of the Zamfara State government to reunite them with their families.”
Additionally, the resilient troops cleared a notorious terrorists’ hideout at Gidan Jaja in Zurmi LGA of Zamfara State. The OPHD troops also made 11 arrests, targeting suspected terrorists’ logistics suppliers who were transporting 127 bags of grains in 2 Canter trucks. These logistics suppliers were linked to the notorious terrorist Halilu Sububu at Kwanar Boko in Zurmi LGA of Zamfara State.
The statement noted, “The arrested suspects are undergoing preliminary interrogation.”
